When we post on DU are we ;
trying to learn from each other through intelligent discourse?
trying to provide food for thought for the National Liberal dialog? i.e. trying to get the Dem leadership to hear what we think is important?
trying to convince undecided voters to vote big "D" ?
engaging in socio-political masturbation?
trying to piss off repubs?
Just wondering what everyone else thinks.
I have felt all of the above.

(27,630 posts)I have never masturbated to DU. Why do you ask? Is there a political fetish, and if so, what do you do with the likes of "turtle" Mitch McConnell among other anti-sexy politicians? Why would you even mention sex in regards to DU?
No, I come here for thoughtful conversation. The conversation is usually political. but not always. But conversation is good, here. Thoughtful discussion.

..............................................................................................(number of varying states of mind of DU'ers)
The answer to your question could be expressed as (number of DU'ers)
I don't have scientific notation capacity on this keyboard. That is supposed to be number of DU'ers to the power of number of states of mind of DU'ers.
I have come here for comfort, community, inspiration, to share inspiration, to laugh together, to think things through together...for eleven years! (I lurked every day starting Jan 21, 2001, when the DemocraticUnderground.com banner was shown on CSPAN during Shrub's corronation parade.)
I could be wrong about the equation but that's my take on it.
Aloha.

(3,173 posts)Democratic Underground stimulates thinking and builds brain power. I can't be sure of the number of ways, but twelve seems like a nice round number. All right, thirteen.
Occasionally my thinking is turned completely around by something I've read here on DU. Sometimes it's said in response to one of my posts - that's always an awakenikng. I respect and admire DU members . . . some more than others.
Democratic Underground is good for you . . .
