Facial expressions communicate emotions. So does an expressionless face. Both are forms of communication. Ivanka and Jared do not makes facial expressions in range of a television camera. The intentionally flattened affect exhibited by both shows that neither want to convey any emotional valence or charge. This coordinated approach toward public appearances can easily suggest that the two are concealing a whole breadth of emotions that they'd prefer not be conveyed to the public.

Nothing is illegal or untoward about this, but when viewed within the context of the entire Trumpy Administration being awash in secrecy, Jared and Ivanka are simply being congruent as they, too, are immersed in the cult of secrecy. They, too, appear to know what's happening behind closed doors. They, too, know the feeling of Putin's breath on the backs of their necks.
