Is there a way to donate to the DNC but stop their damn phone calls?

Our phone rings 4-6 times a day. Sometimes it's the DNC, sometimes it's the DSCC, sometimes it's the DCCC, sometimes it's the Democratic governors association.

It's really out of control.

Is it just a matter of picking up the phone and telling each different group that we don't want any more phone calls (if that will even work--once our phone # gets on the list it seems like it never gets off)?

Or does not picking up the phone eventually result in them not calling?

It takes a few weeks sometimes but works.

Give to Planned Parenthood, Red Cross, Public Television, the Audubon Society, they will all call endlessly and they will all share your contact info with related groups who will also call and mail.

On the plus side, I am flush with pre-printed return address labels, greeting cards, and with 2018 calendars. So there's a plus side.

Download an app that gives you a free phone #. I use one called TextNow on the iPhone it's free you just have to send one text a week to keep the number active.

Use that number.

Set the app up to not ring or vibrate for incoming calls.

You have them a real number, but it's one that won't disturb you.

When they call your real number tell them that you will donate later but need them to update records because you are getting rid of the number they have and give them the new number.

That new number is also good for things like selling on Craigslist, dating, etc.

During the 1996 cycle, Terry McAuliffe's aggressive fundraising tactics almost got me fired, because I made the mistake of putting down a "work number".
