I'm sick of turning the other cheek. Kathy G. Should not have apologized!

I thought the right was tired of PC? Fuck them. KG should have put out a statement denying ever being involved with the picture. That's what Donnie 2 Scoops would do. Then threaten to sue anyone that did not agree with Kathy's "alternative facts."

Please understand that I do think the picture was horrid. I'm just sick of having a double standard applied to us. Just ranting...I certainly respect anyone who found the picture offensive. I'm not looking to marginalize gore or violence.

CNN should have given her a raise, not dismissal.

Especially in regards to potential main stream gigs like CNN. Lest anyone forget, CNN fired Donna B. for easy nothing and hired that lying snake Corey Lewandowski around the same time. She should have been prepared for the CNN fallout.

we, like 45, can't apologize when we realize we've overstepped, done something in hindsight we regret?

I found the image offensive, and I loathe 45 and everything he stands for with every fiber of my being.

As such, I'm glad she apologized.

That said, if you're going to do something like this, you should be prepared to weather the shitstorm (the strength of which she obviously didn't anticipate) with some words to back up whatever point she was trying to make and not apologize. She didn't think this through.

I don't want to live in a country where we are acting just as stupid as the republicans. What Griffin did, in a grown up world, shouldn't have dangerous repercussions but after what happened in Portland I don't trust stupid people to see images like that and not let their stupidity take over. Plus it just creates an atmosphere of ugliness and hysteria. Either there's one party of grownups keeping this country sane or we're standing in the middle of a shit throwing contest with all of us getting dirty. No thanks. And as the poster above said, all it does is take the focus off Trump.

We've lost all three branches of the federal government and a majority of state-level politics.

But hey, as long as we look like grown-ups, right?

I'm with you on the distraction front, though: most people are easily distracted when it comes to politics. A strong Democratic leadership would have distributed talking points, like the Republicans would have, and every talking head should redirect the conversation to how the Republicants are fucking us over. But that's just IMO.

Routinely. Racist murders were real and common. Kathy just turned the tables by having a woman show them the results of their own hatred, but aimed at their dear leader. But she never threatened anyone because of their race: fRump is a self-admitted abuser. Proud that he abuses women. She didn't target a race or nationality, just one man.

It wasn't funny, because she showed us the truth about our country. Several studies have proved that the racists elected fRump.

The blood is on their hands, not hers.

I get her statement. She's right. With wars, guns, drug abuse, hunger, homelessness, lack of public healthcare, and bigotry, humans have blood on our hands.

Kathy ends up taking a severe career hit for that trump head image---while Ted Nugent, who made public death threats against both Obama and Hillary---got a visit with trump at the White House, and a chance to make shitty poses with Hillary's portrait while he was there.

I hope that trump's inevitable downfall is beneficial to Kathy's career. She definitely took one for the team.

I don't want him to see him or his cabal of criminals hurt. Kathy Griffin's macabre display was a distraction. "Politics is war without bloodshed..." Griffin's display was the equivalent of Pickett's Charge. It served no tactical or strategic goal.
