We are the Sixth largest economy in the world.
We are first to have a non white majority.
We are Democratic ruled and showing the country the way

(90,727 posts)...and a chunk of flyover country likes to use us as a political punching bag. We've given the nation two presidents so far -- both, alas, Republican. I'd love to break that streak, for sure.

Yay diversity, we have a veritable smorgasboard of East Coasters from powerful families who cluck derisively about marijuana legalization, to choose from!

I like that Eric Swalwell reps Dublin, CA but when he's on MSNBC they use Oakland CA backgrounds.
Kamala Harris is a Oaktown homegirl so yeah I'm hella liking both of them.
It's an "Oaklandish thang."
