It is time to quit Yahoo! for good....

I don't know when it started, the habit of automatically going to yahoo.com whenever I had downtime from studying or working, but it must have been years now. It is an addictive experience, scanning the articles and then leaving a comment, sometimes arguing with people that have opposing viewpoints. But recently, it has become a forum for hate, especially in the wake of the most recent terrorist attack. Most featured articles are flooded with calls to round up or even assault Muslims. Yahoo benefits from this because the ensuing conflicts brings eyeballs to their ads, but I will participate no longer. I am going to break the habit of using Yahoo! and perpetuating it as a platform of hate. I have installed a Chrome addon that redirects me to democraticunderground, where sane discussion can be had, whenever I type in the Yahoo! url as I've become accustomed to. I am looking forward to thoughtful discussion as opposed to Russian trolls and trump supporters spreading hate.

like it is and if it sucks, we say it. We have rules and we express how we feel with as much respect for others as we can mustard. Our monitors keep our unthinking passions in check so we can share without getting personal. I''m proud of this forum and its creators.

So glad that you are here with us,too.

They have even permeated the sports section. Breaking your habit of using Yahoo! is a great idea. You'll definitely be much happier getting away from it.

Man, the bloodlust coming out of the republicans and Trump fans after what happened in London was fucking scary. I saw people advocating that we should bring back the Crusades. And we all know how well it worked the first time.

Follow academics, science writers, etc. and Twitter is a different universe.

When a major event happens I do check to see what people are saying. I have been doing my part to get people saying vile, hateful things kicked off, and many of the accounts I've reported actually have violated Twitter's rules. Trump trolls be gone.

11. Unless someone sends or posts a link I never go to Yahoo. Holds no appeal.

I didn't get why people were enamored with Yahoo in the later 1990s either.
