he could but it wouldn't cover whether he pressured Comey to drop the Flynn/Russia conversation because he has already talked about it. Executive privilege is to keep private, sensitive info out of the public and he already put it out there.

And you can't use any kind of privilege to hide criminal behavior. Even attorney-client privilege can be pierced in that instance.
