The failure of "Radical Tenderness"

In his interview on Stephen Colbert, George Saunders--a man famous for his 2013 "kindness" commencement address--says we need to be empathetic and firm with Trump. Of course that was several months ago and Trump's handlers surely have tried every trick in the book to turn Trump from a buffoon into a president. Many commentators have noted that you can't change a 72-year-old man. But didn't that old dog learn how to tweet which is a relatively new trick?

Hate is embedded with Trump. You can take the man out of the penthouse but you can't take the pent-up grievances out of the man.

Only when Trump is gone can we restore dignity to the White House.
