he believed the Con was guilty of Obstruction of justice when he asked him to lay off the investigation of Flynn? Does he not have the right to further investigate his opinion to feel confident in making a formal complaint?

(111,339 posts)If they're grumbling about things like "failure to prosecute," they don't know anything about building a case with corroborating witnesses and forensic evidence.
If it's on TV, it's crap.

(2,857 posts)Somewhere in previous testimony he was asked something about it and he said he wasn't being coerced . No I don't have a link and I'm not wasting time looking for it, but he had worded what he said in a cagey way that will keep him from being in trouble. JMO on that last part.

(16,375 posts)Along the lines of "if you thought he was so bad why didn't you leave?" It's bogus nonsense that the cons on the committee Thursday will no doubt bring up ad infinitum.

(115,836 posts)Comey didn't "do anything" when SCROTUS asked him to lay off the investigation *because Comey was the fucking FBI*! And he probably wanted to carefully memorialize their conversations with an eye to investigating further.

(34,137 posts)As the chief law enforcement officer in the country Comey's only choice was to report to the Attorney General who was and still is suspected of being a participant in the crimes Comey was investigating. Comey's "chain of command" was the AG, then the President. Both were and are involved in this Russian meddling scandal.
It is ludicrous to think that Comey would have had to report to one of the suspects.
creeksneakers2, I am not laughing at you, just at the righties who are delusional enough to think Comey had a requirement to report Trump's crime to someone else.
