When a sitting president is on air repeating, "I didn't say that." he's done. It's only a matter of

time.

When a sitting president is on air repeating, " I'll tell you later" he's done.

When a sitting president is on air repeating, "I'm totally innocent" he's done.

It's only a matter of time.

The same stupidity that allowed him to repeat that on air is the same stupidity that made him do really bad things that will eventually out him as a crminal.

Because HE NEVER THOUGHT HE'D BE PRESIDENT< SO HE RAN HIS BUSINESS AS THOUGHT HE'D EVER HAVE TO ANSWER FOR HIS DEEDS.

told. It just demonstrates yet once again, of course, how in history great historic nations were led down the path to failure and civilizations ended. I thought we were long past that, that people were more enlightened and astute, but here we are again, suckered in by a carnival barker. And then, also, so many sit home on their asses and don't even bother to vote!

Clinton should never have been impeached about a sexual encounter between two consenting adults period...but what is hard to understand about partisan politics? Trump has an "R" next to his name so they support him...and if we ever want to climb out of the minority, we need to vote for the person with a "D" next to his/her name.

I am saying that we should not assume Trump is done just because of the statements he made yesterday.

The comparison with Bill Clinton is that the Republicans controlled Congress so they were able to initiate impeachment.

In terms of Trump, there will not be impeachment, because the Republicans are in control of Congress.

Clinton said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky."

He was not under oath when he said that to reporters, but even so, he as a lawyer used the dictionary denotation.

Later, the prosecution neglected to include in their accusations the one sexual act Monica became known for.

Finally, Bill was correct to wonder why the prosecution was using present verb tense in asking him about the past events. Hence, it "depends on what the meaning of 'is' is."

Sexual relations, not sex. Kind of makes his statement even more of a lie, after what he later admitted to have done.

I worked my tail off to get Bill Clinton elected. Went door to door in Ohio (surprisingly high number of Ross Perot fans, at the time). I went around telling everyone that the Republicans were making things up, that there was a vast RW conspiracy to bring him down, etc. - so it was more than a little disappointing when the truth about the Lewinsky affair came to light.

That being said, I realize he wasn't under oath when he did that interview, and I recognize what you point out about the prosecution.

Trump's statements the other day also were not made under oath, for what that is worth.

I am glad that BC was not removed from office, and I think the whole thing was clearly partisan (and hypocritical). That's why I don't think Trump will suffer any consequence - since the R's control both houses of Congress.

But the House voted to impeach because they had a Republican majority.

Trump will not be impeached, regardless of the statements he made yesterday, because the Republicans are once again the majority party in Congress.

It's all political.

What will it take for them to relax their grip on #45?

Pressure from lobbyists? That won't happen, they're walking in tall cotton right now.

Pressure from Kochs/Adelson? Hard to say. Maybe.

It's absolutely astonishing that Republicans are content to not act at this late date, in light of an attack (via hacking) on America by a hostile global power. They deepened the Red State-Blue State partisan rift to Marianas Trench proportions, sowing rage, confusion, and making Americans question the very reality of their own country.

But still, as of today, the GOP's "usual suspects" continue making excuses for their cosmic train-wreck of a "president."

If you live your life as if you are going to be President and you're not, it won't matter anyway.

But if you live your life as if you'll never be President and you are, you will discover you have made a terrible error.

The russians have been helping elect demagogues all over the world for some time now.

They probably can't believe their luck.

A demagogue /ˈdɛməɡɒɡ/ (from Greek δημαγωγός, a popular leader, a leader of a mob, from δῆμος, people, populace, the commons + ἀγωγός leading, leader)[1] or rabble-rouser is a leader in a democracy who gains popularity by exploiting prejudice and ignorance among the common people, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation.[1][2][3][4] Demagogues overturn established customs of political conduct, or promise or threaten to do so.
