Let me preface my remarks by saying I watch your television appearances with rapt attention and you are my hero.
In your appearance on CNN with Elizabeth Foley she argued that Trump's behavior regarding Comey doesn't fall under the obstruction of justice statutes because SCOTUS has ruled they have never been applied to an investigation, only to judicial proceedings. Could you explain that to me please.
In a hypothetical scenario where Trump has been removed from office would the SCOTUS ruling be a bar to prosecution or could prosecution go forward and should Trump be convicted then it could be appealed on those grounds.
Words, words, and more words... It seems the gravamen of her argument is obstruction doesn't apply to investigations, only judicial proceedings. That seems like it would read to absurd results. I won't bore you with examples.
Brian
P.S. Impeachment is a political and legal process
