about that DT and his wife don't live under the same room, nor even in the same state?
I betcha they are silent as a clam about that.

(5,502 posts)They will partner with anyone who is willing to put forth the white supremacist, anti woman, anti gay agenda. It has nothing to do with values. It has everything to do with hate.

The vote their hated which usually runs counter to their needs. But that just shows that they probably hate themselves as well.

They should scrutinize the 9th Commandment, and for that matter the rest of them!
Racism is a Family Value?
They read the Bible, and cherry-pick here and there, phrases and words to justify their own immoral, and unethical thoughts and deeds.
My conclusion in watching how these kool-aid drinkers behave, is that they are lying to themselves!
That is not self awareness.
Nor is being a sheep.
And let us not forget the actual concept of separation if church and state.
Proselytizing religious beliefs has no place in politics or political decisions. I don't care if it is Judaism, Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, whatever.
Keep it to yourself, and share it among your congregation and worship as you will.
Why is that such a difficult thing to comprehend?

(9,808 posts)While he was pissing out ideas for the worst fiction in the world to the worst hack in the world, and counting all the money his scams brought in, she was living on the opposite coast, using some of his scam money as starting capital for her own scam, Concerned Women of America (AKA Pearl Clutchers United).
As long as they dress it up in a cheap electroplating of piety -- our work is too important, the Lawd requires our sacrifice, we're doing it for the children -- the rubes will eat it up.

(10,252 posts)I don't even want to call them Christians, because they certainly don't practice the teachings of Jesus. Any literate person can open a red letter bible and read the words attributed to Jesus to know that the Trumpy evangelicals are degenerate.
They are more akin to the Inquisition of the 14th Century and would enforce their beliefs with tortures and fiscal corruption on everyone if they thought that they could get away with it. They are no more than a degenerate cult demanding blind and unquestioning belief nd a hefty portion of your pay check - if not all of it.
So stop calling them "evangelicals," and "fundamentalists." Call them what they are a degenerate cult.

(1,257 posts)As far as I am concerned, they are no better than the radical Muslims who are spreading that particular brand of hateful intolerance, death and destruction.
Give these bible beating sheep half a chance, and they would be doing similar things in this country.
I am sure that the hateful idiots that are defacing Jewish cemeteries, and beating up and murdering immigrants or people of color call themselves Christians too.
It is a despicable glimpse of the very worst of humanity, and in all honesty, it has always been with us.
The faces and places have just changed.
If there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, it is no wonder they do not make themselves known.
The amount of ignorance, violence and lack of decent morality on this planet scares me.
SCARES ME!

(38,327 posts)If a married pastor is caught having regular sexual relations with a "troubled" sixteen year girl, they'll blame the girl. That's a true story, it happens again and again...
The Scarlet Letter isn't just a book you read in high school.

(100,102 posts)They don't know or care about anything Jesus actually did, or practice anything he taught, and if you quote the Bible, they go apeshit. They are so fucking horrible.

(3,145 posts)is a former pastor turned agnostic and the stories he'd tell would leave not even a hint of surprise about evangelicals not really supporting family values:
A pastor that would rail against gays in his sermons on Sunday morning after sleeping with a man on Saturday night
A deacon that was a prominent local businessman and member of the "Values Coalition" had his secret life exposed after his death when his mistress sued in court to get a part of his estate for their teen son.
