Avoiding the problem of 2018 and allowing a Presidential election to overshadow coverage of 24 million losing healthcare. The GOP might be heartless bastards, but they can be clever heartless bastards.

They don't seem concerned with that.

Do they know something we don't? Like free elections are a thing of the past? There is no doubt in my mind that the Republicans are going to block votes. But are they even going to allow elections?

Trump has isolated us from the intelligence sharing of the world. That makes it harder to detect threats. Any attack, manufactured or not, will allow for the curtailing of our democracy. This is the goal. They want unfettered power.

I. AM. VERY. AFRAID.

They will find some way of rigging it so that the changes don't take effect until 2020. The current administration would never have to deal with the impact or backlash.

I hope it doesn't pass at all, but if it does, I hope they have to live with every minute of it rather than dodging the consequences.

His people were repeatedly promised good healthcare in which they would be covered, preexisting conditions included. He sounded like Bernie Sanders. Now he's fallen in line behind Paul Ryan. Yes I didn't believe any of his shit either but I think this is a bad move as far as HIS base is concerned, which is of course very good for us.

I had a lady in the office last week who lamented the fact that her PCP had retired...she fully blamed "Obamacare because "He hated that Obamacare...it ruined his practice". Now this is a red state that did not expand coverage under the ACA, thanks to the rethugs here, and this lady was convinced, as well as her retired PCP, that Obamacare was terrible and should be thrown out. That's the ignorance we're up against.
