Northam wins Virginia's primary easily; Perriello (Warren/Sanders endorsed) loses.

..."Perriello channeled the energy — and endorsement — of progressive leader Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) as he tried to shake up the Democratic Party, but fell short in his bid to bring in enough new voters from among the young and working class to overcome Northam’s command of the Democratic machine, including the endorsement of nearly every Democratic elected leader in state or federal office.

Celebrating at a restaurant in Arlington, Northam led a giddy crowd in a call-and-response chant, ending with a call to take back the Democratic majority in the GOP-controlled House of Delegates. He said he had spoken with Perriello and “we agreed that we’re going to bring all Democrats under the tent starting tonight. This is too important an election. This is the bellwether of the country...”

2. I was pleased. I had mixed feelings about Perriello. He voted for Stupak amendment

and affected abortion negatively in the ACA, but in the end he voted for the bill and lost his seat for doing so. I hope he comes back to the House...but being governor...he could affect abortion rights if he still has those views.

4. Agreed. Encouraging that Dem turnout was 35% higher than Republicans, 150% more than 4 years ago.

If we win Georgia 6 next week, it will send a message to the GOP and our voters. Winning is a healing thing...it stops the bickering and helps focus most people.

The guy who backed Trump came close...Russians or deluded Trump voters? I would like to see paper ballots used going forward.

primary eight years ago which gave the GOP an easy win, and no Virginia Dem wants to repeat that...
