(5,813 posts)I held on to the belief thst somehow, some way we'd be spared the wrath of tRump. I knew if he ever took the oath of office, we were screwed and removing him through the usual ways would become much harder. After he was inaugurated, I still had a dim hope that the people with the power were working on a remedy to rid us of the Orange Plague. I still thought that the republicans would do the right thing since I knew they all pretty much loathed and despised him.
So here we are some 145 or so days into this debacle. Investigations seem to expand every day. The removal seems inevitable because he and his entire team of nitwits have really messed up the whole administration. It appears that crimes of all types have been committed and the ethics books were thrown in the trash from the start. And yet he is still there day after dreary day, bungling things and grifting away right under our noses as if he is daring anyone to stop him. His tweets drip with sarcasm and righteous indignation.
I am learning patience. Things do appear to be moving toward impeachment. Just not fast enough to suit me and millions of others who see what he is doing. I'd like to snap my fingers and he'd be out of there. Him and his family, his yes men and women and his cabinet.....many possibly spending the next years of their lives behind bars. I won't hold my breathe that it will happen easily or swiftly but pretty soon Donald J. tRump is going to have to pay the piper and surely, if there is any justice, we'll all get to see that happy day arrive.

(8,445 posts)I bet my husband 45 wouldn't last until the 200 day mark. It was for lunch. If I win, (and I still think I will) I'm going to request lunch in NYC with a side order of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. If he wins, I won't remind him that we had a bet, and he'll probably forget.
