I have a feeling that Trump paid a visit to Mr. Rosenstein and "suggested" that Robert Mueller be given a permanent vacation from his position as Special Prosecutor, and Mr. Rosenstein refused.
But then what's the deal with that weird statement that Rosenstein's office put out yesterday about "leaking", that seemed like it was written by the Trump administration itself?
Tomorrow's Saturday. I have to wonder if there will be a figurative "massacre" of sorts in the evening hour.
Can anyone explain what's going on?
Mueller? Mueller? Mueller? Anybody? Anybody?

(40,220 posts)This is from the President of The United States!
I read somewhere that living in this country with Trump as the preseident is like being the passenger in a car with a drunk driver. Everyday.
The crazy is going to make the whole country sick.

(17,019 posts)Nowhere in the letter Rosenstein wrote did he suggest what, if any, action Twitler should take. It was his review of Comey's actions. Twitler owns this, lock, stock, and barrel. Not to mention, Twitler went on national tv and stated he had already decided to fire Comey before he received the memo and he did it because of "the Russia thing."

(58,785 posts)apparently arising from a severe attention deficit disorder, how could he possibly understand that others can and do focus and remember, and even analyze?
Somewhat like asking a person who has no idea that he's color blind to understand that others see far more.

(4,074 posts)Mueller and that was his attempt to placate him. I told my wife there was a good chance Rosenstein or Mueller would be fired today (depending on whether Rosenstein has a spine or not)

(58,785 posts)No guarantee, of course, that Rump wouldn't resist all handlers' attempts at reason and indulge himself.
But, my money goes on not. It does look as if it may finally be dawning on him that his presidency could be in trouble. Though, since he's always been able to buy his way out out trouble, I'm guessing it hasn't yet sunk in that his money won't help him this time.

(129,440 posts)[*** And Mr. Trump's apparent reference to Mr. Rosenstein, who oversees the Russia investigation because Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from it, came just hours after an oddly worded statement from Mr. Rosenstein complaining about leaks in the case.
In the statement, Mr. Rosenstein wrote, without further explanation, that Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous officials, particularly when they do not identify the country let alone the branch or agency of government with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated.

(68,667 posts)caught my eye...I think this refers to Sessions...as it was revealed yesterday that Sessions had dinners (two at least during the campaign) with the Russians...a foreign source. I would also add, I think Trump wrote the press release or forced Rosenstein to write it.
"An American lobbyist for Russian interests who helped craft an important foreign policy speech for Donald Trump has confirmed that he attended two dinners hosted by Jeff Sessions during the 2016 campaign, apparently contradicting the attorney generals sworn testimony given this week."

(82,849 posts)He's trying to pawn off responsibility for firing Comey on to someone else? Doesn't that run counter to the president's "large and in charge" persona he's relentlessly hyping?

(68,667 posts)why Comey was fired was written by Rosenstien. However, Trump contradicted this with his Lester Holt interview and with his bragging to Kislyak in the oval office...now he seems to realize it amounts to obstruction and has gone back to blaming Rosenstein who will no doubt be a witness now...and will have to recuse himself...if Trump doesn't fire him first.
