"Mueller is moving ahead with surprising speed"

That is what I heard repeatedly by the political pundits last week.

What does that mean?
How long do you think this will go on before we have results?

My view is that it is so enormous and involved we may be in this for a long time.
I hope not but...

Mueller has an impeccable reputation; there has never been the slightest suggestion that he's ever done anything corrupt. It's absolute nonsense to suggest this is "a jobs program for his buddies," because his "buddies" that he hired were already working at major law firms making huge salaries. Going to work for the government means taking a pay cut.

aree taking some big paycuts to do this job. I don;t think this about employing his buddies.

Let's not get cynical just yet.... Mueller seems to be doing everything I would hope for.

he walked into a situation with several investigations underway, including an FBI investigation working on a year in the discovery mode. A lot of what he needs to do is already done. He's putting together a team of experts. And he's consolidating all of the things already accomplished into his portfolio.

Yeah, it will take a while longer, but it is moving.

Keep the faith.

including obstruction of justice, the financial aspects re Russia, possible collusion with Russians, and all the things related. Mueller has to be very careful, dotting all the i's. Yes, that takes awhile, but I concur that it's moving faster than expected. I think he and his team are right on point.

In any investigation, especially one this complex, often they turn up unexpected but related things that also have to be investigated. Watergate was a good example. I'd rather Mueller takes the time to be careful and get it right than hurry it and have it thrown out.

a presidential resignation, and more than 40 government officials were indicted or jailed, and that was just for one, third rate burglary. Now look at everything that's flying around Trump:

1). Robert Mueller is heading the FBI investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 elections and possible collusion in this effort by the Trump campaign.

2). House intelligence committee is looking at Russian involvement and collusion of the Trump campaign with Russia, and allegations against former national security advisor Michael Flynn.

3). Senate intelligence committee is focused on Russia's involvement in the 2016 presidential election, including in the Republican primaries, and more possible Trump campaign collusion.

4). The House oversight committee is looking into the firing of FBI director Comey and whether Trump put pressure on Comey to shut down the Russia investigation.

5). Senate judiciary committee is investigating The White House including the firing of attorney general Sally Yates, and they now want the White House to turn over all audio recordings, transcripts, notes, etc., related to Comey's firing.

Will we get results similar to Watergate and see a Trump resignation? Given the scope of all these investigations, how many of Trump's staff will be indicted or jailed? Be patient, these investigation into Trump's crimes have only been going on for a few months, but if we get him and his whole nest of treasonous snakes in the end, it will be worth the wait.

Watergate was the stone age.

I expect information to be gathered much quicker in these times.

Unlike Watergate, this time we have the means to follow all the electronic trails, and that may expand the investigation into an ever widening gang of complicit crooks leading back to Trump. The thing that worries me is making sure all these investigations have the authority and the money they need to hire experienced staff and outside experts who can follow the leads to wherever they go.

Yes, it's moving quickly, but it will still likely take many months to complete as there are potentially hundreds of people to interview and dozens and dozens of schedules to juggle to get them all available at the same time.

If the investigation is still going in a few months, you will hear Republicans start to whine that it's taking too long and that there is nothing to be gained by Mueller & company wasting government/taxpayer money to find nothing. This is BS.

The Whitewaster investigation went on and on for four years.
