(13,728 posts)This kind of talk and thinking is worthless, a distraction from the real issues and is essentially dividing flamebait.....
Stop falling into the repugs games!
We have 45 seats to win to control the House... Now that is a big mission...Foolish chatter about who's leadership blah, blah, blah...is fruitless....

(6,252 posts)Ms. Pelosi has done a great job, but I think it's time to change. What we're doing isn't working. Flame away

(13,728 posts)Once we win an additional 45 Seats in the House...then we can discuss leadership ...until then, this issue is moot.

(7,178 posts)What I take from yesterday's election results is that Republicans are struggling under Trump and Democrats are energized!

(95,577 posts)In favor of protecting immigrants, and her district knows it. Is a faithful Roman Catholic in her personal beliefs, and is not an Evangelical theocrat, and her district knows it. She suits them, and they continue electing her.
Her district, which encompasses the City of San Francisco, is only one of many, many Congressional districts in California, yet most of California's 10s of millions of voters know this about Nancy because she is prominent and a respected Democrat.
It's rather sad that alleged (or just plain ill-informed) Democrats outside California choose to believe RWNJ divisive propaganda about Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, who I hope will be Speaker of the House again one day. Because she is, in fact, good at what she does.
ProudLib72
(17,984 posts)It wasn't only the RWNJs who picked up on it. Kicking her out for one statement (or even ten) is wrong. Blaming her for the mid-terms is wrong. However, I am not going to hold my tongue and let every transgression go. She is not above reproach. That is what the tRumpers did; they forgave him when he "misspoke" and made excuses for his mistakes. If Pelosi has achieved that sort of status with her supporters, then I am afraid for the party. If her supporters shield her from criticism, then that is the end of meaningful dialogue.

(1,387 posts)There is no comparison. Nancy Pelosi is far from being a treasonus race-baitng con artist.

(102,820 posts)The bigger picture is taking down Trump. These small elections, while important, are still distractions. We should be focused on the prize: taking down Trump and the Russian cabal. That should be our primary agenda right now. Focusing on these elections where the candidate is only in office for a year in districts where you know you have no chance of winning is like focusing on 1 game out of 180 when your prize is winning the World Series.

(5,422 posts)lightning rod which helps Repubs rally is hollow - they would do this no matter who was our House leader. Hey Repubs - we get to choose! And we choose Pelosi!

I was hoping to check the 'Don't care' option, because this is some boring industrial-grade polarization/divide and conquer going on, and I'm not interested in playing it.

Hhhhmmm....this used to be Newt Gingrich's seat. Maybe it was his handiwork. Why would we cave to that slimy pig?

(15,008 posts)I don't see pelosi as the problem. If however we need new leadership across the board in order to start winning, I'm fine with that.
