There was a time that I thought Nancy Pelosi SHOULD step aside for new blood.

That was a long time ago... I just kind of expected it because its not usual that someone can hold onto being to party's leader... speaker or minority leader, THAT long. I've always admired Nancy Pelosi for being good at what she is suppose to be good at... caucus math. And at this point, I just want to see her hang in there just to spite the anti-nuance, bumper sticker sized attention spans of the people that are calling for her to step aside.

Its the job of the DNC to elect democrats. Its the jobs of the Democratic house leader to pass legislation whenever possible... she has done so. And the notion that losing special elections in long held, deep red districts where the other side had to actually try at all is amazing and lines up with historical norms right before the minority party takes the house in the next year.

So lay off Speaker/Leader Pelosi. She is one of the few rich people that give enough of a shit to work to pass laws that help the rest of us. Dudes like Tim Ryan offer nothing for our party or our values.

Neo-socialist??? Really? Where did you hear that term, Fox News? How about believer of FDR's New Deal?

If Elizabeth Warren, Kristen Gillenbrand, or Amy Klobachar, were in the House, I would support them as Speaker over any male candidate out there!

This tying people who don't care for Nancy Pelosi as have issues with women in power is really getting old!

Looks like I hit a nerve. The word "neocon" is bandied about on the left with impunity, but even type the word "neo-socialist" and the knives come out...

I didn't call you that, but if the shoe fits, feel free to overreact and take it personally.

And yes, I heard so much about how "I'm not sexist, because I would totes vote for Elizabeth Warren for president!!" before the incredibly misogynistic names hurled at her 20 seconds after she endorsed Hillary hit social media...

And yes, there is a deep, old, and apparently wide vein of misogyny on the left. And the fact that so much that is dumped on Pelosi that was never dumped on Gephardt or O'Neill supports this.

If you want to deny that there is misogyny behind much of the hatred of Pelosi on the left, you also need to deny the racism concerning Obama on the right.
