And that's a bigly "if," it could be that he views the whole investigation as an attack on him. Seeing as how he can't even take ribbing during the White House Correspondents' Dinner without retaliating a thousand fold, he certainly will not stand for serious legal accusations thrown at him.

He acts the same way in civil suits: all bluster, threats, insults, and finally settling out of court because he was guilty. He fired Comey even while claiming that Comey assured him he was not the target of any investigation.

It's what shitgibbon does: he fights dirty, no matter the circumstance.
