Birth control vending machines installed in college campuses

Students at the University of California, Davis have a new selection in their vending machines.

That late night or early morning contraceptive need now has a quick fix.

UC Davis is offering students the morning after pill, condoms, and pregnancy tests inside the convenience of a vending machine on campus.

Senior Parteek Singh came up with the idea after a friend was unable to buy the morning after pill in a timely manner.

The one other place contraception is sold on campus is the student health and wellness center, and it's only open during business hours.

The student health center had a huge fishbowl in the entry area, full of condoms. That part of the health center was open 24/7.

Ironically, every package had the state-mandated warning: FOR PREVENTION OF DISEASE ONLY!

New slogan...RU-486 it!

There should be television ads describing the safe use of the drug combo. Public service announcement kinda thing.

The two years after spouse had the snip, I kept my scrip for oral contraceptives. I went off them shortly after he showed clear, but picked up and stockpiled the pills. With 6 year expiration dates for the sealed packages, I just held on to them in case of emergency.

I now have a year's supply of Nuva rings and three morning after packs. It's one of the weird remnants of growing up in Mormondom -- stock up on necessities. (This is not what they meant.)

I'm pretty sure my current doc would give me the scrip if I asked. I may do so at next appointment. (My state doesn't require taking them in presence of doctor.)

By Hans and Yortek, the Festrunk brothers. They said "every time girls have sex, they need to go see a park ranger."

They were two wild and crazy guys.

They don't have a ring for that, they just tell you it was your fault and ask you to leave.

I forgot that the morning after pill is now over the counter, is it? Bizarre to think it used to be prescription, and that some pharmacies refused to fill those prescriptions.

It might be easier for some people, because of anonymity, to make purchases this way, especially in smaller towns.
