Are they taking calls from constituents in their states and listening to their concerns about the Senate NoCare bill? Nope. They're at a conference sponsored by the Koch brothers. That's more friendly territory for them, and they can skip the phone calls and emails from voters and hobnob with their buddies.
Plus, since the Koch organization wants an even more draconian bill, they can believe that voting for this bill is a "compromise." They'll be wrong, of course, but that's what they'll think.
Folks, if only three Republican Senators vote NO on this bill, it will fail. Three. We know of almost half a dozen who have expressed their dislike of the bill, and there may be others, as well. We should focus on those Senators this weekend and at the beginning of next week. We don't have to convert the Koch ass-kissers. We just have to encourage those who have already mentioned their reservations about this bill and get them to vote NO. Whatever their reasons for voting against it, a NO vote will kill the bill and, perhaps, all momentum to replace the ACA with a disaster.
