Trump's admission of Russian meddling may be an indication that the Special Counsel is very close...

...to damaging information on Trump himself?

Sure, there was meddling but Obama knew about it and did nothing, he says. When he starts blaming someone else, he is very close to the story about to break.

He is attempting to create distance between himself and this story. He is a great fabricator of excuses and lies.

Yes he did know about the Russian meddling, but he didn't have all the facts. He couldn't make any judgments because the FBI were still investigating. He didn't feel he could announce anything and appear to sway the election in Hillary's favor.

He could have put everything on hold and called the election off - but what would the Republicans have done then? They'd be screaming from the rooftops and ready for a lynching. Obama had very few options, and he hoped that Hillary would have won. At the time the polls were saying that Hillary would win, like we all thought.

So if she had win then Obama would have made everything clear about the Russians meddling, and the whole thing could have been dealt with before the NEXT election took place.

I'm not sure I agree with Obama 's reasons but I can see that he had very few options and not enough time to do anything.

to call off an election.

Obama could have given a broad but strong statement of concern from the Oval Office to inform the American people of the meddling.

The concern over "optics" should take a back seat to concern about genuine threats to our democracy.

was that Russia might blow up the entire election? They did not know how deeply the Russians were involved, at the time.

It's why he's trying to reignite the Bernie-Hillary wars again, too. Distract, deflect, lie. Look the other way. Nothing to see here.
