And hasn't it been more than 120 days?
So regardless of implementation, haven't they had the 120+ days they wanted to "figure out what the hell is going on yet"?
So, we shouldn't need it. It's been 120+ days and we've had no attacks (miracle of miracles, because this fucker is asking for it).
Has his "administration" figured out what the hell is going on yet?

(1,462 posts)Get on every news show, social platform or soap box and scream incessantly exactly what you are pointing out NightWatcher! We need someone to be as vocal and pushy as Trump and his surrogates. Point out that clearly the Turd administration was using this Muslim ban as a racist tool to satisfy their racist base! Otherwise, EO would be withdrawn and never mentioned again since Turd admin has had more than enough time to "figure out what is going on."
Kamala Harris would be my choice to speak out about this. I love the way she doggedly attacks issues. She is special!

I expect it to be fully implemented, as long as Big Orange Turd is POTUS.
It PAYS to STEAL a USSC seat!
Gorsuch is doing what SHitler put him there to do: cover SHitler's ass from the highest court in the land.

(22,037 posts)I looked briefly for this story but can't find it right now so here's my memory:
In trying to defend Trump's Muslim ban, one of his lawyers said that since the executive order was put on hold by the courts, the lawyers felt that their entire work on the issue was held up, too. That's why the White House hadn't tried to figure out "what the hell is going on." It's a lame-ass argument and the judge rejected it.
It's interesting that SCOTUS won't hear the case until October and probably won't issue a judgment until months later. Accordingly, it will be more than a year from the time Trump issued the order until there's a determination of its constitutionality. Think he'll have figured it out by then? No, me neither.

(82,849 posts)That doesn't make America great, you know. Why are you libruls so obsessed with what Trump says and tweets? They aren't official pronouncements, unless what he said or tweeted sort of pans out (if you hold your mouth just right and squint from the proper angle), then it's evidence of his oracular powers, like using the word "mean" before anyone else ever.

(145,321 posts)The SCOTUS has asked for briefing on why this order and case is not moot https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/06/06/trump-proposed-a-120-day-travel-ban-to-improve-vetting-its-been-129-days/?utm_term=.97df7c2f170f
...The president has admitted that the ban is no longer necessary, Fresco said, referring to that tweet. The only reason to keep the ban now is to actually have a ban.
In other words, Trump's lawyers will have to convince the Supreme Court that a temporary ban is necessary, even though it was supposed to expire before it was actually implemented, and months before the case is heard.
Because of the way the Supreme Court's schedule is set up, both sides will be arguing about a ban this fall that had long since expired.
