President Donald Trump doesnt appear to be completely confident Republicans will get enough GOP Senators on board to pass the Senate health care bill, according to comments he made during an energy roundtable discussion with governors on Wednesday.
The President said Obamacare is essentially dead and called it a headache for everybody and a nightmare for many, before praising Republicans latest Affordable Care Act repeal plan that he wasnt fully confident would pass.
So we have a plan that if we get it approved, its very tough. Every state is different, every senator is different. But I have to tell you, the Republican senators had a really impressive meeting yesterday at the White House. We had close to 50 of them, we have 52, but we need almost all of them. Thats never easy, he said. I think were going to get at least very close, and I think were going to get it over the line.
He said the meeting of GOP senators at the White House Tuesday after Republican leaders announced they were going to delay the vote on the new health care bill had a really great feeling and said he thinks the bill has a chance to be a great health care at a reasonable cost.

WASHINGTON - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is aiming to send a revised version of his health-care bill to the Congressional Budget Office by as soon as Friday, according to Capital Hill aides and lobbyists.
The effort reflects the tight timeline McConnell faces in his attempt to hold a vote before the August recess - and the pressure he is under to make changes to improve the CBO's measure of the bill's impact on coverage levels and federal spending.
McConnell is trying to move quickly to produce a new CBO score by the time lawmakers return to Washington in mid-July, giving the Senate about two weeks to fulfill the majority leader's goal of voting before the August recess.

(51,129 posts)White House and Capitol Hill officials are exploring potential deals to divvy up billions of dollars to individual senators priorities in a wide-ranging bid to secure votes for the imperiled GOP health care bill.
A Congressional Budget Office score that projected 22 million fewer Americans would have insurance under the plan sent some members fleeing Monday and left the bill in jeopardy of failing to have enough votes to even be called to the Senate floor this week.
But Republicans in the White House and in Congress were pleasantly surprised that the bill included more savings than they expected and are trying to figure out if they can dole it out for votes.
The Senate has about $188 billion to play with. ........................
