A man accused of shooting and killing an 18-year-old woman in a case of road rage is being held without bail on murder charges after turning himself in Sunday morning, authorities said.
David Desper, 28, faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and reckless endangerment, Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said.
CNN affiliate TV station WPVI tweeted a photo of Desper released by police.

(63,221 posts)Look at those dead eyes. And then look at the bright, sparkling eyes and beautiful beaming face of the young woman he killed so cruelly and senselessly. It's so horrible and unfair that he is the one that is alive.

(9,527 posts)I don't think you can determine that he has dead eyes from one picture. He made at the very least an incredibly stupid selfish decision. She paid with her life, and he will likely spend a great deal of time in jail. It could be that the picture reflects he realizes he's just fucked two families in irreparable fashion over a traffic incident.
But look at how often black men killed by cops often have out of context Facebook pictures used where they look "threatening" in some fashion. The camera only captures a moment, not a life.

(52,317 posts)He likely had a momentary surge of rage. We've all been there on the road. Maybe steroids were involved, but anyone can get pissed at other drivers.
Had he been unarmed, it likely would have passed with a honk and maybe a finger, and been forgotten by the end of the day.
But he made the decision to have ready access to a lethal weapon and she paid the price for that decision.
When people say "an armed society is a polite society", this is what they imply -- offend me in any way and I'll kill you.
