Ny Times Piece...Back To The Center?

There are so many fucked up concepts in this piece.....I just can’t begin to wrap my mind around its main premise..
That under the Obama Administration the Dem. party pulled too hard to the left..

When one reads this crap from the Times.. well...It’s rather frightening.. “Old Brick and Motar economy is being regulayed to death” Really?

Whats their point.... Blue Dog Dems.. Are the answer?....

Depressing... How the hell do we get ourselves out of this mess.? Get off our Goddamn Asses and demand that we
procure a single payer healthcare system....I realize we can’t do a thing at this moment..but it would be a good start.

However, the country is center left at best (based on the fact that the GOP controls the majority of the states) and yeah, we want a majority, we will have to run centrist candidates in certain states...just as Dean did. I don't think a coastal progressive can win the presidency in 20 either...our best bet is someone like Sherrod Brown. He is a progressive but can appeal to the rust belt...Ohio in particular. Also neither Sen. Sander nor Sec. Clinton should run...time to move on completely.

Right, left, and center. They're opinions from outside writers (like letters to the editor, but longer), not from Times staff or even columnists. They don't reflect the opinions of the Times or its editorial board.

If you can't wrap your head around the idea of an opinions page, and if you can't rationally conceive of simply making an argument about the opinion rather than about the paper that prints it, we got problems. First amendment problems, as well as breaching the divide problems. We bemoan the fact that our members of Congress won't even listen to each other, or let the minority side speak, and yet we don't even have the stamina to read an opposing position ourselves. I can read this and disagree with it, but not get my pants in a twist about the fact that someone has a different opinion. This is different than listening to lies or crazy shit: it's just an opinion with which you don't agree. Chill. Nobody pays attention to these op-eds anyway.

crazy stuff the president or Fox News or some of the kookiest Republicans say. Not op-eds in the NYT: those op-eds are the things that nobody pays much attention to.

And by that I mean: What earth-shattering occurrence has transpired because of this Op-Ed? What laws or political landscape has been changed? What seismic shift in people's lives? Nothing. It was just an opinion by a couple of long-time centrists trying to get back into the game. I shrug and move on.
