Are ALL Republicans dicks?

Maine Governor Paul LePage doesn’t believe in the first amendment to the Constitution. And he can’t wait for the press to disappear. Who are the people who elected this man? Do they agree with him? Is the voting majority in Maine people who vote for Republican dicks time and again?

Here’s the Maddow blog link and excerpt:

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maines-lepage-suggests-he-likes-make-news-stories

"Gov. Paul LePage lashed out at the media for reporting he planned to leave the state during a budget impasse, and he suggested he sometimes concocts stories to mislead reporters. The Republican governor also characterized the state media as “vile,” “inaccurate” and “useless.”

“I just love to sit in my office and make up ways so they’ll write these stupid stories because they are just so stupid, it’s awful,” he told WGAN-AM on Thursday.

LePage added, “The sooner the print press goes away the better society will be.”

-snip-

We’ve come a long way from Thomas Jefferson writing in 1787, “Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.”

I’m curious, though, how the taxpayers of Maine will react to learning that they pay Paul LePage to sit in his office “and make up ways so they’ll write these stupid stories.” In context, it sounded as if the governor deliberately concocts false claims, in the hopes that reporters will pass along bogus information to the public.

That’s not generally what we see from a chief executive of a state – who presumably has actual work to do – but LePage is not a normal governor."

It's well known, but it's worth repeating in today's world.

Anyone calling themselves a Republican is frankly unAmerican trash.
Not to mentions the Bush years when they damn near took down the country.

Here's what is has been happening in Maine. Maine has lots of independents that run and siphon off votes from the Democrat for the most part. So these asshole Republicans are not getting a clear majority of votes when they get elected. The vote is always split 3 or more ways and the independents get a lot of votes in Maine (for example, Maine has one of the two independent US Senators).

Maine voters have been trying to fix this problem. This is why the Rank Choice Voting referendum was on the ballot last year and very clear majority of Mainers voted to have ranked choice voting as our new voting system. Unfortunately, our current so-called leaders want to ignore what Mainers voted for. They are stalling on implementing RCV and they are actively trying to get it thrown out all together. Also, LePage is trying to make it hard for Mainers to get referendum questions on the ballot. RCV is voting system in which the winner has the majority of votes (at least 50%). The current system allows a winner with just the plurality of votes, which results in the majority of voters being dissatisfied with the results of the election. Plurality system is what is getting the Republicans elected all the time, at least in Maine.

Since I am a Mainer, I wanted to speak up for Mainers and explain the situation. Most Mainers hate LePage and they did not vote for him.

It seems like Republican dicks always find a way to slither through the oddities in the voting laws.

Good luck on ridding yourselves of this stain on democracy.

After his appearance in the hot chair on Maher, one of the guests commented that everything he said was utter nonsense. Can't remember the guest or the exact term he used.

One might know an individual republican that doesn't seem to be a selfish, fearful hypocrite pandering for corporate crumbs, but the Republican Party apparently has no problems with their evangelical corporate oligarchy ignoring the Constitution and regularly operating this side of a RICO indictment.
