I swear that Fredo said during his interview on State Media last night that tRump had just won IN about the time of the email and they were so busy working on a contested convention.

Would it be normal to be doing op. research on a GE candidate at that moment or would there be a reason they would have felt ok looking past the nomination right then?

Just seemed odd that they'd be looking ahead to Hillary before winning the nomination, but I think it was explained above.

Mr Steele used connections which included foreign officials. And his job was to dig up dirt on Trump. The problem for Trump is that Russia was trying to harm USA by getting Trump elected. No one provided Dem sources with info designed to harm the USA.
