... that one of my sisters voted for Trump.

As she explained to my daughter at a family wedding last year, she "knew" that Idiot Boy was an idiot - but was confident that he would surround himself with "all the best - bigly" people who would advise him about keeping the country on-track.

Since Trump's "election", that sister has had nothing to say about him - and has avoided the topic of politics completely. She has suddenly become "apolitical", and isn't interested in what's going on in the Trump administration.

I only bring this up because I think she represents a lot of former "Trump supporters". They were gung-ho during the election process, but when the truth of his idiocy became undeniable, they suddenly remembered that they're not really interested in politics after all.

I have a good friend who is as liberal as I am, a staunch Democrat. He voted for Trump because he is opposed to trade deals (thinks it destroys good middle class jobs) and said Trump would "shake things up" but Congress would hold him in check.

He is now reluctant to discuss politics. He simply says Trump hasn't worked out like he hoped.
I'm not happy about but but we are really not good friends anymore. I just can't forgive him for what he and the other voters have done to our country and the world.
