Am I the only one who's been in a better mood these last few days?

It's also a little cooler (raining today) and that may have something to do with it, except I'm pretty sure it's, um, all the other things. Yes, this IS a terrible time for our country and I don't want to dance while Rome burns. I will dance, however, to watch 45 go down, the more painfully the better.

I want to see him embroiled in controversy where he gets nothing done Legislatively (and I think we are doing pretty good). As a matter of fact those 'leaks' are Republican not Progressive! I agree with Noam Chomsky that we should be more concerned about Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. We also need to start winning in local politics!

I was never a big fan of 'Morning Joe' and never liked the guy but after the Trump tweets I just find his show hilarious! Watching two right wingers go at each other is pure entertainment!

but, as usual, the Repubs coalesced around talking points---quickly---and are gaslighting the whole country. Making sane people think they are CRAZY and CRAZY people think they are sane. Seriously, SO infuriating.

Put me in the skeptical camp. Trump and all of the Repubs will get away with this until things change in the House and Senate. And then, the pessimist in me doubts that will happen anytime soon with all the shenanigans going on with gerrymandering, voter suppression and probably some honest-to-goodness cheating and dirty tricks.

The only silver lining I see---and its going to get bad before it gets worse---is that Repubs get the three things they want:

1. Supreme Court seat - check (...and STOP calling it a presidential success!!! They pulled all kinds of maneuvers to make that happen including changing the rules!)
2. Repeal the Affordable Care Act
3. Tax cuts for the wealthy

If Repubs can hold on long enough to get those signed by Trump (and don't be naive, Repubs ARE focused), then perhaps, with earth-shattering evidence about Trump and Russia will they finally turn on him.

typing faster than I can think.

A silver lining being that the Repubs lead impeachment Trump AFTER they get his signature on healthcare and taxes. Have to go through a whole lot of hurt first to get to the desired outcome. And then, we're left with Pence who will still advance the awful agenda without all the Trump drama.
