7. The Ukraine ledger showing payoffs to Manafort

They are trying to make this a "she did it too" thing.

https://www.apnews.com/20cfc75c82eb4a67b94e624e97207e23

WASHINGTON (AP) — Last August, a handwritten ledger surfaced in Ukraine with dollar amounts and dates next to the name of Paul Manafort, who was then Donald Trump’s campaign chairman.

Ukrainian investigators called it evidence of off-the-books payments from a pro-Russian political party — and part of a larger pattern of corruption under the country’s former president. Manafort, who worked for the party as an international political consultant, has publicly questioned the ledger’s authenticity.

Now, financial records newly obtained by The Associated Press confirm that at least $1.2 million in payments listed in the ledger next to Manafort’s name were actually received by his consulting firm in the United States. They include payments in 2007 and 2009, providing the first evidence that Manafort’s firm received at least some money listed in the so-called Black Ledger.

It's a deflection tactic that has a strong appeal to the stupid. If you can find something, anything that a Democrat once did, then that somehow exonerates what a Republican did.

The fact that someone else robbed a bank is not a defense for you to rob a bank.

Something about as SoS she allowed some sort of business deal that gave Russia a big chunk of US uranium mine rights and the business that did the dealings was a big Clinton foundation donor... or campaign donor ... or some shit like that.

The RW logic was, "OMG, she's selling off our nuclear power to the Russians for personal profit or treason or something!"

And then when you reply, "Well Putin and Trump are LITERALLY scheming together to hack Hillary's campaign" their response was ... crickets.

The "The" is a marker of a region, which implies (in context) that Ukraine is a region of greater Russia. That's why Ukrainians hate when people say "The Ukraine."

It's sort of similar to referring to the "Democrat Party."

I think it irks them because it makes the country sound more like a region than an actual country and they value their sovereignty.

"The Gambia" so why do that to themselves? Does it really mean that? Also the British say "The Lebanon" so do they mean it is just a region, and if so, why would they?

Then, step 2 is AM radio, Faux News and millions of internet BOTS begin to breathlessly pontificate about it.

Step 3 is when those same radio hosts, Faux and Internet BOTS begin complaining that "no one in the MSM is covering this 'breathtakingly important" bullshit story"

Step 4 is when the MSM begins getting hundreds of calls from Limpballs listening hayseeds and Internet BOTS.

Step 5 is when the MSM, cowed by charges of "lib'rul bias", pick up the story

Step 6 is when AM Radio, Faux News and millions of Internet BOTS (and your drunk Uncle) begin touting the story and pointing out that "it must be true...I saw it on CNN, or in the NY Times...see, even the 'lib'rul' media is reporting it"
