So the spin today is she "was allowed" to overstay when her parole immigration ended in January 2016. Yet the email specifically says that they couldn't do the meeting "today" because she hadn't ARRIVED yet FROM Moscow.
I know, petty question considering the enormity of it all...but overstaying here vs flying here with no status/expired status are 2 different stories. No one between June 2016 and now has been able to track down her coming/going between here and Moscow? Was she on commercial or private Russian plane?

The U.S. Attorneys office in New York confirmed Wednesday to The Hill that it let Veselnitskaya into the country on a grant of immigration parole from October 2015 to early January 2016.
Justice Department and State Department officials could not immediately explain how the Russian lawyer was still in the country in June for the meeting with Trump Jr. and the events in Washington

(13,903 posts)she was in fed court that day too. I imagine that was the primary reason she was allowed in, in the first place.
The case that Sessions just swept under the rug with a low ball settlement.
The case that Preet Bharara was prosecuting until he was fired by Trump.

(9,974 posts)If her status expired in January, how could she re-enter the US in June?
Nothing has been said about her status being renewed except when it was renewed for a week extension in January, I believe. Most of the articles I've read today are saying she "overstayed" and asking why she was "still in" the US in June.
Where was she between January and June? If the guy wrote in the email that he knew she was unavailable on the 8th because she had not arrived from Moscow yet...how could she be flying in with no paperwork? If the paperwork WAS still good in June and we are not being told that, she wouldn't have been "overstaying", hence no need for the media hype today that she "overstayed" and shouldn't have been here "still in June".
Yet State and Justice Dept are staying mum on this now, refusing comment. They have to know if her papers expired or if they were renewed and when she came/went. Least I would hope so.
I guess if I want to go full tinfoil: was/is there a system in place that is allowing/allowed Russian lobbyists/operatives to bypass having any travel paperwork.
Given that she then went to D.C. days after the meeting, would she have needed any paperwork to show if she boarded a commercial plane to D.C.? Unless she drove there.

(5,611 posts)They are trying to craft an elaborate story that Obama and Lynch allowed this Russian lawyer in to set up a meeting with Trump and co to use a year later as proof of "collusion" after he won the presidency...of course none of that makes any sense if one spends more than three seconds thinking about it.
And I used to think that Alex Jones was fringe. Here we go with the new conspiracy theory.

(9,974 posts)Because I wouldn't put it past Putin and the others involved in this to figure out a way to get people like her in/out of the US beneath the Obama administration radar. And what better way to cover it up than to make it sound like the Obama admin knew/were involved.
