So are public press briefings now a thing of the past?

I know they do short off-camera ones on occasion.

Has the press been completely shut off at the WH now? The only briefings we get now are tRump by way of twitter?

The news outlets don't even mention it. Why even have a press office?

The ones they did have were worthless, but the fact that they aren't having live briefings any more at all is nevertheless disturbing evidence of their lack of regard for the press.

On the other hand, there is this old saying: "Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel and paper by the ream." The media have been kind of worthless for a long time with all their false equivalency bullshit, but the behavior of the Trump administration has pissed off at least some of them enough to start doing some serious reporting. The NYT and WaPo have sone some great stuff, and so has Kurt Eichenwald at Newsweek. I hope they keep at it.

'Off the record' gaggle with the president - and then, if it goes well for him, put it 'on record!'

And the White House can release/confirm a conveniently edited transcript!

Let's see if 'the press' will fall for this!
