Lennox, the dog at the centre of an international campaign to stop a Northern Ireland council from putting him to sleep, has been destroyed.

where did the family get the dog?
the article is particularly uninformative about any problems the dog had had in the community.
it states that the dog was one of the most unpredictable dogs ever observed but doesn't describe the conditions under which the dog was observed. the article does not reference any attacks that the dog might have perpetrated or any other signs of vicious behavior.
was the only issue the law that prohibits "pit bull type dogs"?
