Have you seen this new RW chainmail comparing welfare recipients and wild animals?

Via the MyRightWingDad blog:

Lesson in irony.

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is actually proud of the fact it is distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals."

Their stated reason for the policy is because the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.

This ends today's lesson.

There are 2 comments under the post. In fact, this kind of rhetoric you saw in the chainmail has been actually used by Republican politicians, including a lieutenant governor of South Carolina who said: "My grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed. You're facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don't think too much further than that. And so what you've got to do is you've got to curtail that type of behavior. They don't know any better." Cenk takes down Andre Bauer:

This year, Minnesota state representative Mary Franson (R of course) said in a robocall: "...I’ll read you this little funny clip that we got from a friend. It says, ‘Isn’t it ironic that the food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever. Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to please not feed the animals, because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves. Our reform bills are meant to bring people up out of the clutches of poverty."

Last year, the attorney general of Nebraska (also running for the US Senate challenging Ben Nelson) compared welfare recipients and raccoons.

When prominent politicians proudly use the kind of logic you read in the chainmail, something is really rotten in a political party's core.

question; when are the conjobs going to own up to the fact that whites use more food stamps than anyone?
answer; never not even when they confronted by the creator.

I am not sure where your got your info, but check your data it is flawed.

In two years White use has declined, while Blacks have stayed consistent with a slight increase.

None the less, I can not find anything of fact, that states White use 71%. Where ever did you get that number?

Food Stamp Use By Race* (as of the 2010 FY)

Whites: 35% participation | 63.7% of US population
African Americans: 22% participation | 12.2% of US population
Hispanic: 10% participation | 16.3% of US population
Asian: 2% participation | 4.7% of US population
American Indian: 4% participation | 0.7% of US population
Unknown race: 19% participation | 0.2% of US population

Food Stamp Use By Race* (as of the 2012 FY)

White, non-Hispanic 32.2%
Black, non-Hispanic 22.5%
Hispanic 15.5%
Asian 2.8%
Native American 4.3%
Other 22.7%

*Sources: U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Census

There are more white recipients of food stamp benefits – now aptly named the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – than there are black recipients. However, relative to their size of the population, African Americans disproportionately receive the benefits.

on several 'friends' walls-

It's a flawed comparison. The reason we are encouraged NOT to feed wild animals isn't because they become 'dependent' upon us, it is because they will lose their FEAR of us, and when they do that, they become dangerous.

Wild animals are also hunted and eaten, mounted and put on display. Would those who think this comparison is valid also advocate doing that?

it's an absurd meme- and says terrible things about the morality of anyone who supports or applauds it imo.
