After Reed praises Collinss handling of the hearing, held by the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee, she laments the administrations handling of spending.
I swear, [the Office of Management and Budget] just went through and whenever there was grant, they just X it out, Collins says. With no measurement, no thinking about it, no metrics, no nothing. Its just incredibly irresponsible.
Yes, Reed replies. I think I think hes crazy, apparently referring to the president. I mean, I dont say that lightly and as a kind of a goofy guy.
Im worried, Collins replies.

(25,111 posts)enough with the anecdotal hand wringing. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

(11,257 posts)Worried, I say!!!
And with that, she'll proceed to do absolutely nothing to hold him accountable in any way.

(12,904 posts)She feels sure that any damage inflicted by the raving lunatic won't touch her.
She's not one of "the poors", after all. Those people will just have to fend for themselves.

(11,257 posts)At least with the latter, you know what they're going to do, and they don't pretend to be anything else.

(14,400 posts)action. That being said, I'd love to see the results of a 30 day psyche hold on Trump as I think he's as crazy as a shithouse rat.

(13,468 posts)That would have happened a long time ago.

(63,224 posts)If he's crazy, then it's their fucking responsibility to oust him or, at the very least, rein him in.
Instead, we get a flock of eager rubber-stampers who offer mild token objections and then fluff their beloved leader 9 times out of 10.

(28,811 posts)and this is their golden opportunity to fulfill it. and fuck the consequences, because they're craven, scorched earth, greed meisters and warmongers and all around shitheels. that's why.

(63,224 posts)I made that same point earlier today, in fact.
So maybe the media can stop casting these brave rubber-stampers as strong-willed loose-cannon outlaws defying GOP orthodoxy, and instead portray them as the culpable enablers that they are.

(13,305 posts)....this continues Collins efforts to appear very concerned and make people believe that her brow is really being furrowed over this, right before she votes lock step with the rest.

(6,496 posts)All the papers are reporting she will vote no. She has stated over and over again that she would vote no on this, so she has no reason to vote yes. It would not be a popular position to take with Mainers and she'd look like she was going back on her word.
I got to stand up for Collins because she is a decent person who cares about Mainers over her own party when it comes down to it. Yeah, she is a Republican, but she is at least a reasonable one and we need more like her to make that party change.

(13,468 posts)The people deserve to know what is really going on in the minds of our elected officials concerning Trump. This is a D and an R, and they both realize Trump doesn't know what he's doing.
