Kathy Griffin Reveals She’s ‘Completely Exonerated’ After Secret Service Investigation For Beheaded Trump Photos

"TODAY. The @AP has to clarify. I am no longer under federal investigation,” the comedian, 56, wrote on Friday, July 28. "The case is closed, I have been completely exonerated. Finally.”

Underneath her comment, Griffin shared a screen grab from the Associated Press that further explained the situation. ....

Griffin was reportedly interviewed by the Secret Service months after the photos were released. “Kathy Griffin has been interviewed by the Secret Service, in-person, for over an hour,” tweeted New York Magazine reporter Yashar Ali on Monday, July 3. “Investigation is still not closed.” Griffin hinted that she was under investigation on June 27, while sharing a link to a Think Progress article calling out TMZ for their coverage of the President. “Hey, I don’t give a F anymore,” Griffin wrote on Twitter. “@TMZ & Harvey Levin may u NEVER b under fed investigation like I am now.”

She's rarely accused of being a comedian.

i know her humor isn't for everyone, and yes a lot of it does descend from the don rickles / joan rivers school of insult comedy.

personally, i never found don rickles funny at all, just mean and obnoxious. but for some reason i find kathy griffin hilarious even though i can see the similarities.

well, i think i know, actually. rickles used to insult anyone and everyone. ordinary people, his audience, everyone.

kathy tends to insult arrogant celebrities, people who insult her first, and republicans.

I just never got the appeal at all. A lot of men don't think women can be funny so KG and other female comics have had to put up with a lot to carve out a career.

I've seen KG live a couple of times and she's good and seems like a decent person.

Don Rickles punched down, sideways, indiscriminately. Anyone was fair game, except those he perceived to be more powerful than himself. Rickles was the bully's insult-comic sidekick.

I have never once seen Kathy Griffin punch anywhere but up. She goes after power, trying to make it obviously ridiculous. That takes courage.

Also, far more talent. But I'm young enough that I've never seen Rickles as anything but a bitter old dude, well past his innovative days. He may have been better when he was younger.

I just don't think KG is very funny. I put her in the Dane Cook "you had to be there" school of performers who seem to go through the motions of being a standup comedian and get you caught up in the feeling that comedy is being presented but aren't actually delivering any humor.

to "get you caught up in the feeling that comedy is being presented but aren't actually delivering any humor".

but i know what you mean. some of it is the rhythm of a comedy show. a lot of jokes aren't funny in isolation, but a few semi-decent jokes loosen you up, hearing other people around you laughing helps the mood (laughter actually is contagious), and it feeds on itself.

a good comedian knows how to construct a set so that the really good jokes are appropriately paced, building up to a big finale, while using so-so jokes as filler. good fireworks shows have a similar construction.

i've seend plenty of dud comedy shows, and if the audience doesn't get going, it's painful even if they come out with a legitimately funny joke. that's the oddity of comedy. the funny jokes are a lot funnier when in the context of a show of a lot of so-so jokes, provided the so-so jokes are good enough to get the audience in a good laughing mood. a lot of people don't realize how important those filler jokes are.

of course, once in a blue moon you see a show where every moment is an absolute killer. but those are few and far between even for the legends.

anyway, i never found dane cook funny in the slightest. kathy griffin and louis c.k. are probably my favorites, we've seen them both live.

And (et) every single comedian ripping DRUMPF without holding a bloodied, severed head.

And, yes, as with all of those Free Speechers doing those ripping activities, it *would* make me feel very good.

*Now* what did I say to spark a problem here?!1
