I would prefer to keep Chump around as a pinata than getting a President Pence

My dream scenario is we win the House in 2018, impeach Trump, and slow walk the trial in the Senate through the 2020 presidential election.

The only downside is he might blow up the world out of spite.

P.S. There are not 67 votes in the Senate to convict and remove.

Trump is too dangerous to the USA and the rest of the world as well.

I'd take Pence over Comrade Trump.

Trump actually has a political following. Pence doesn't. Trump is legitimately dangerous for the world.

Also, if Trump was impeached, he wouldn't shut up! He'd still be in the news and we could use that every day.

not to mention countless other people who could actually die if he keeps fucking with the aca or start a war.
One problem at a time. Even if Pence gets installed as 46, he will be a lame duck if we retake congress. the gop will also take a significant blow and slink back to their caves.

Getting him out now helps Pence AND republicans. I want Trump to stretch this out and damage republicans, hopefully fatally.

...might involve collateral damage, specifically, blowing up the world.

There's a bigger picture than little pedestrian concerns of awfully distasteful political parties.

There's a world that's our responsibility.

Attacking N Korea might lead to a million deaths, in South Korea, Japan, Okinawa. Trump probably figures dead foreigners is not such a big deal. Pence probably knows the costs exceed the gains.

Although my bet is that Pence (and Ryan, and McConnell) is likely also on the indictment list, so he'll be in a CAT 5 headwind, too.

I've managed my (now late) grandmother's property in Indiana for 5 years, so I've kept an eye on IN politics. Pence's time was crappy as hell, awful for women, PoC, LGBTQ, the disabled, the elderly, and the environment, but he wasn't all that effective, either -- the bigger issue was the Indiana Lege, which has finally started to swing away from Keystone Kops and Kochs thanks to widespread death and disease due to their own policies. And now that Pence is gone, Indiana is building a corruption case against Pence, too.

I do not trust that Pence isn't a pre-millennial dispensationalist (i.e. Rapture believer, Left Behind type) but I don't think even he is arrogant enough to try to *force* the Lord to show up. And he may be corrupt, but he understands the concept of the rule of law. It's much easier to work with a Lawful Evil type than Chaotic Evil or Chaotic Stupid.

My dream is Pence gets in deep caca first and 45 has to replace him with someone acceptable to the new Dem majority in Congress. Then holy hell can befall 45 so new VP can move into the Oval.

President is. Still unlikely he gets impeached before Democrats take congress in 2018. If Democrats take congress in 2018. The down side to Trump being impeached after Democrats take congress in 2018 is it would give republicans a Democratic President to run against in 2020.

Pence will make a fine piñata, and the stuff in his closet is even stranger than Trump's thinking his daughter hot, pussy grabbing, and hookers peeing on beds.

Walking around all day with a Mrs. Butterworth's bottle stuck up your ass isn't the kind of kink most U.S. Americans will understand.

And Pence would know how to wield it.

It's a gamble, but I'd prefer to have Russian collusion proven on Pence's part and impeach him first. Trump would be impotent.
