At 7:01 p.m., the Senate has adjourned for August recess.

No legislating until Sept. 5. Pro forma sessions will block recess appointments.

ACA repealed before giving in.

When they realized that repeal was dead, and that Dumpty Trumpty's tax plan was only a half dozen bullet points, I think they realized that it gig was up. Better to exorcise the demons now vs closer to mid-terms.

I may disagree with her Republican views but I can still have respect for someone who takes her position seriously and stands up for what's right when it's important.
