If Rmoney thinks that picking Rice will help him with black and women voters, it just shows the GOP has learned absolutely nothing from the Palin fiasco four years ago. It represents extremely shallow thinking, and illustrates how out of touch they really are. Do they really think that African Americans would vote rethug simply because they have a black VP candidate? Do they really think women will change their minds and vote rethug because the VP is "one of them"?
Not only that - but evangelicals and fundie types are already hesitant to support a candidate they don't believe is a true Christian. Picking a VP candidate who is pro-choice would absolutely make their heads explode. They aren't going to vote for Obama, but they would be much less likely to support the GOP. They would either vote 3rd party or stay home.
And let's not forget - she is a WAR CRIMINAL - part of the Bush cabal who orchestrated the illegal invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation based upon nothing but lies. She has blood on her hands, every bit as much as Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.

(12,461 posts)The teabangelicals are up in arms about Condi being Pro choice...And the racist teabaggers who won't vote for Obama, notes Condi has the same problem. Those within the GOP who believe a woman should be in the home and not in high office, they take offense of her gender...poor choice Mittens...I know, try Jamie Dimon, another ruthless CEO like yourself....

They were cooing, "That Condoleezza Rice is so well-dressed and articulate!"
Yeah, as if they thought that an African-American member of the political establishment would dress like a hooker and talk like a character on The Wire.

2. She's female.
3. She's never been married.
4. She's on record as pro-choice.
5. She carries the taint of George Bush.
If she were just female that's one thing, but she's never been married, and that makes her suspect. Also, she's black. Does anybody really think the GOPers would pick a black running mate? It's fine to play the game of pretending not to be bigoted by "allowing" a black person to run in the primary, but seriously, folks. A black woman on the GOP ticket? The wingnut base wouldn't stand for it. Bad enough there's a black man in the White House now, but a black woman a heartbeat away? Nuh uh, they won't have any of that.
And she'd have to explain to the wingnuts why she isn't married (could she be...you know...?), and why she was pro-choice (she'd have to disavow that position in a hurry), and then there's the taint of George Bush...
Not gonna happen. Anyhow, she's already said she didn't want to do it.
