This is going to be laughed at by some, but it worth a thought.
Have we ever considered the fact that part of what makes Trump base so eager to bring about climate change and nuclear war is the fact that it would destroy the cities?
Yes, laugh, but think about what climate change and/or nukes would do. Bye bye New York, bye bye eastern seaboard, Bye Bye California.
In short, the prayers of many of the Trump mouth breathers! it would be a golden chance to destroy their rivals, plunder their goods, and let the preachers preach that god saved Middle America. It would also be an excellent chance to turn immigrants and minorities into easily to exterminate and exploit refugees!
And the heartland would say their prayers were answered.

(34,120 posts)that those areas would be nuked so their prayers are answered. I live in Kansas, in the country, on a farm and spend half my off the farm time at the feed store with people I know voted for Trump. NEVER have I heard anything like that. I never even heard anything bad about Obama.
Perhaps the mouth breathers you speak of are your neighbors? They are not any of mine.

(111,339 posts)like ICBM silos and bases. Even if they survived the blasts, Middle America would not survive the darkness, the poisoned land, the death of livestock, and the total depletion of not only food stores but seed, not to mention fuel for the machinery they now depend on. There would be no looting because all that "stuff" would be burned and blasted and there would be no way to get to it, anyway.
The one fitting description I've seen of the aftermath says the living will envy the dead. That's where Middle America would be.

(15,805 posts)of even in his lifetime. Rising sea levels will start slow, like now, but it still at least century away from a time when humans could be forced to abandon coastal cities and migrate inland. People in the heartland will face other problems from climate change as well as the march of millions of refugees. If they are still praying in the future, there won't be any 'thank you baby jeebus' for the dystopia the Republicans left behind.
