within the last hour. Yesterday afternoon, it was $2.07/gal, tonight it was $2.47/gal. Nothing else big happened today but mush for brains twitter bitching.

A small rise has been forecast on Gas Buddy and similar sites for weeks. I'm a handicapper so I check stuff like this almost every day. Inventories are starting to tighten and the price per gallon still hasn't caught up to the traditional relationship between barrel price and pump price. A move upward was logical.

Obviously individual stations can have dramatic shifts that don't always reflect the national trend. No matter where I'm living I always figure out the "mood" of nearby stations. Some move quickly to fear. Some slowly.

We don't notice. They usually hike everything when winter sets in.
