1. Conservative and liberal brains work differently

Conservatives tend to react to events more with fear, liberals more with thinking. This is not something learned, there are observeable brain differences. So when international events get scary, conservatives are more to want a war to eliminate the danger, while liberals are more likely to consider diplomacy.
