People keep asking me, "How did you know that?".

Ever since I found out about DU I read the various articles, discussions, etc. and learn about a lot of the latest news stories from all the various sources from all over the world. When I mention an item that I read and it appears on the news later in the evening or next day everyone wonders if I have ESP or something. What a great site and discovery. I've turned so many others on to it... Thanks DUers!

I had no idea who Rachel Maddow was plus all the other great resources I've learned about. This is kind of snarky but it has made playing with the trolls on Facebook so much fun!

In fact, it makes me want to write more and more and more and more...so I can listen to the rest. Oh hell, I'll throw my album on my turntable. Me new speakers are "in the mail" so I can't turn it up to #11 just yet.

THANKS!

And why DU keeps getting hacked.

I'll tell my mother about some new piece of news, and she'll ask me where I heard it. She's the one who told me about DU in the first place, and she peruses DU two or three times a day!

and she asks me where I heard that and I tell her DU and she sort of thinks I am not getting the news from good sources and then it comes on the news and in papers and she says "well you were right" but she still does not seem to think that DU is a reliable source even though I explain that most of the DU'ers usually put up proof of what is going on.

remember the sources cited. I told her she could go to DU and see for herself but she is not interested. I figure it is her loss and if she keeps telling me I do not know for sure because she hasn't seen it oh well.

keep their fingers on the pulse of U.S. and world news, D.U. is the FIRST place I come to find out what the heck is going on. And to find out the current mental condition of our Marmalade Madman, no other site is close to D.U. for "Trump watch".

I DO likes me some D.U.

and DU'rs are everywhere. When a news story breaks there is always someone locally who finds out about it or witnesses it. All news us local. Just like politics. Also there are so many links to different news sources on DU.

I consider LBN one of the best news sources online. 'General' is okay, too, but you need to be for vigilant there. But mentioning that you read about something on DU is akin saying you got it from Fox "News" or InfWars to all but the most ardent progressive. You'll just get eye rolls from most others. If you want to reference something you read on DU I find it's often best to quote the original source.

I've been here a long time. I go through periods where I'm active and in-active, but I'm usually lurking all the time. DU is great for digging up information and events that are important to me. I get more accurate and sourced articles and news here than I do on Facebook.
