I doubt that Donald Trump knows anything about Guam.

He isn't known for learning about things, and lacks the curiosity to find out things. He could read the Wikipedia article on Guam, but that's not his style. He could ask someone to brief him on Guam, but he has a tee time.

He doesn't know what's on Guam, who lives there, or anything else about that island in the Marianas chain. He doesn't care that he doesn't know. He has zero concern about the island, why we are there, or about its history.

Donald Trump doesn't care. He won't bother to learn. If Guam disappeared in a blast of nuclear energy, he would not lose a minute of sleep over that.

The same is true of South Korea. He does not care what happens there. He doesn't care about the thousands of our military personnel who are there, nor about about our economic ties with South Korea. He won't bother to learn about that either. Donald Trump only cares about Donald Trump.

That is the reality. That is why we should all be concerned about what is going on, and worried as well.

He knows about places only if he has a hotel or a golf course there. I'd bet that until "his" generals showed him on a map, he didn't know where North Korea is, either.

Trump would also be unconcerned. He is only concerned with his well being.

in the current situation. Donald Trump doesn't listen to anyone, so contacting the usual folks isn't going to do anything worthwhile, I'm afraid.

it was clear from the second she opened her mouth she had no idea that Guam was in any way connected to the United States. Sorry I don't remember her name. It was someone I've never seen before.

a) because everybody knows NK can get there with existing delivery systems and

b) Tillerson is visiting Guam.

It's a staging base for our long range bombers in the Pacific. It may have nuclear weapons stored there, as well, although not publicly admitted. They were supposed to have been removed, but might possibly be back. So, it's not just a symbolic target in any way.

It would be a natural target for NK, given their limited resources for waging war far from the country.

It's really of great concern, but Trump has no idea about Guam. He was scratching his ample ass when he was briefed on Guam, and didn't pay attention.

Still, Guam is an important place in the Pacific. Trump doesn't know why, either.

at Andersen. It is a tropical paradise, but also a strategic military presence in SE Asia. I worry about my childhood friends and their families as well as all American military personnel and their dependents stationed there.
