I suspect most folk would blame him for letting it happen.

George Bush wasn't an inherently divisive figure. That's why the nation rallied around him in the aftermath of 9-11. He's the gentleman who said "I'm a uniter, not a divider." Trump has no such reservoir of good will. He is literally loathed by a majority of Americans, just disliked by another ten or fifteen percent or so.

They will, however 'rally around the flag' and I guarantee you his numbers will go up.

You can't be serious. Do you remember hanging chads and the Supreme Court??

I am simply pointing out the obvious. If NK attacks us, it's a whole new ballgame.

Stating that reality does mean I hope it will happen.

W was a flaming idiot, but he was not mean spirited like a lot of those around him (he was OK with them getting their hate on a bit as long as they kissed his ass enough), and not even remotely as malicious as 45.

Hard to believe that this country saw fit to break the record for most inept POTUS we have seen in our lives by quadrupaling down this go round.

When he met a fellow alum who had gender reassignment surgery at a Yale reunion and was totally cool about it.

The fact he was genuinely comfortable around people of color, albeit sometimes awkward in how he showed his affection.

When Lawrence V Texas came down he quoted Jesus and said to those criticizing the decision "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" I don't consider being glbtq a speck but it show a lot more empathy than Trump could ever muster.

*You can be decent but fundamentally misguided.
