I wouldn't put it past him to think he could somehow get Mueller off his back if he started a war.

But...that was before the "fire and fury" soundbite. I can imagine the bubbas getting all warm and fuzzy when they heard him speak those words with that firm scowl on his face, trying to act presidential. (and it is an act)

If he's losing his base...that IS good news. They're not ALL idiots without brains or evil bubbas.

I think you may be correct. MSNBC has had various "pros" on and they said the same thing.

I know August isn't a slow month for major events in history so this one may follow suit. I sit here with an old newspaper I saved from August 9, 1974 and the headline (in 3 inch bold print) says NIXON RESIGNS; FORD SUCCEEDS. My neighbor wants to hang it in his high school history class.

He's always been able to circumvent court proceedings before. He could settle (basically buy his way out of) lawsuits. This ain't about cheating subcontractors, this is the real deal.

Mueller ain't for sale.

Subpoena to the IRS to deliver them under the authority of the grand jury. The IRS would immediately comply and no one would know about it.

If Trump withheld, hid, and minimized his holdings, how would they know. Not an accountant, so not sure how it works. Guess the forensic accountants would really be digging stuff up.
