China and India on brink of armed conflict as hopes of resolution to border dispute fadeChinese military primed for battle, military sources say; Indian troops prepared for any eventuality

Chinese and Indian troops are readying themselves for a possible armed conflict in the event they fail in their efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to their border dispute on the Doklam plateau in the Himalayas, observers said.
On Friday, Indias defence minister Arun Jaitley told parliament that the countrys armed forces are prepared to take on any eventuality of the stand-off, Indian Express reported the same day.
Sources close to the Chinese military, meanwhile, said that the Peoples Liberation Army is increasingly aware of the possibility of war, but will aim to limit any conflict to the level of skirmishes, such as those contested by India and Pakistan in Kashmir.

Each side thinks the other is going to give on this one. There are a couple hundred troops from each side staring each other in the face. Neither side will benefit from shots being fired. China knew what they were doing building this road and were seeing how far they could push it. That's my opinion. They have to posture as India moved in an put a stop to it. Neither side wants a battle over borders as happened in the sixties.

Take this China/India issue. The concerns are complex. India has made moves to align themselves more and more with the US as China has been increasing favor with Pakistan. India has poked China when it comes to Tibet and the Dalai Lama. The Dolkam region isn't the only place they are having a border dispute. In this instance India actually sent troops into Bhutan to stop China from building the road.
Neither side likes the direction either is going. It's about more than this small border dispute. If they both keep going in this direction it really could get bad. Lines are being drawn and drums are being beat.
Far too many places around the globe are experience similar complex issues and many of the adult leaders seem to have left the table. That has left a void for people with less than savory agendas to step up.
