I am not trying to make light or poke fun at the shameful events of the past 60 some hours...
These hateful men used Tike torches to spread their hate on Friday night. And tried to intimidate people.
Tiki torches-- which for me has always been a symbol of good times and unity and summer nights. IT is also something created by a group of people these hateful people protested against.
It is ironic they would use these type of Torches --as well as showing their stupidity.
BUT more importantly who is ever going to look at a Tiki lamp without thinking of this horrific weekend.
I know I won't.
I am sitting here this morning and happen to glance out the window at my neighbor's yard with a couple Tiki Torches/lamps lining the patio and I actually cringe looking at them today.

(16,887 posts)I don't want to let these racist motherfuckers to take away the Tiki Torches as symbols for hate when they really have always been an item I associated with a nice beach bbq and good vibes....

(7,286 posts)The empty chair became a symbol, my redneck neighbors and others would put an empty chair next to their campaign signs in their yards
I would not be surprised if Tiki torches become a symbol
Also watch for white males in white polo shirts and khakis
